Emista Trio Tablet 10

Emista Trio Tablet 10 is used to manage type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults. It improves blood sugar control when single or dual therapy is not sufficient, helps support weight management, and lowers the risk of diabetes-related heart problems.

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

Emista Trio Tablet 10 consists of three active ingredients working together:

• Dapagliflozin (10 mg): This component belongs to a class of medicines called sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 inhibitors. Its primary function is to decrease the reabsorption of glucose in the kidneys. This results in more glucose being excreted through urine, thereby reducing blood glucose levels. Additionally, dapagliflozin helps reduce body weight and blood pressure.
• Metformin (500 mg): Known as a biguanide, metformin works by decreasing the production of glucose in your liver and reducing glucose absorption from your intestines. It also enhances the effectiveness of insulin in your body by boosting peripheral glucose uptake and utilisation.
• Sitagliptin (100 mg): As a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitor, sitagliptin slows down the inactivation of certain hormones in your body, called incretin hormones. Doing so boosts insulin production and release from your pancreas, reducing glucagon secretion, another hormone. The overall effect is an improved balance of glucose in your body.
