Dytor-20 Tablet is used to manage fluid retention (oedema) linked to heart failure, kidney disease or liver cirrhosis, and to help control high blood pressure. It removes excess fluid from the body, easing swelling and reducing the extra load on the heart.
It contains torsemide, a diuretic that increases urine output to remove excess salt and water. Take it at the same time every day, usually early in the day, so it does not disturb your sleep. Take it as prescribed even if you feel well, as fluid can build up again quietly.
Weighing yourself regularly and keeping to any fluid or salt restriction your doctor recommends can help you track fluid build-up alongside this medicine. Raising your legs when resting may also help reduce swelling.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have any kidney or liver problems, or are taking other medicines. Your doctor may check your blood pressure, kidney function and electrolyte levels regularly. Report muscle cramps, extreme thirst, very low urine output or dizziness on standing.
