Duron 150 MG Injection is used for the following:

• Treating life-threatening ventricular arrhythmias

• Managing ventricular fibrillation

• Controlling unstable ventricular tachycardia

• Restoring normal heart rhythm

• Managing persistent atrial fibrillation

• Stabilising irregular heartbeats

• Emergency treatment of cardiac rhythm disorders

Follow these instructions when Duron 150 MG Injection is administered:

• This medicine must only be given in a hospital setting under medical supervision.

• The injection should be administered as a slow intravenous infusion.

• Never administer as a rapid injection or bolus dose.

• The medicine requires continuous heart monitoring during administration.

• Your doctor will determine the appropriate dose based on your condition.

Duron 150 MG Injection contains amiodarone (150 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Potassium channel blockade: Amiodarone blocks potassium channels in the heart, which prolongs the cardiac action potential duration. This gives your heart muscle more time to recover between contractions, reducing the chance of abnormal heart rhythms.

• Sodium channel inhibition: It blocks sodium channels in heart tissue, which helps slow the electrical impulses through your heart and stabilises irregular heart rhythms.

• Calcium channel effects: Amiodarone reduces calcium movement into heart cells, helping to control the force and rate of heart contractions.

• Beta-adrenergic blocking: It produces non-competitive blocking effects on beta receptors in the heart, which helps slow the heart rate and reduce the workload on the heart.
