Doxiflo 650 Tablet 10 is used for the long-term treatment of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), helping to keep the airways open and prevent wheezing and breathlessness. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing doxofylline, which belongs to a class of medicines called xanthine bronchodilators.
This medicine relaxes the muscles around the airways and is used regularly alongside inhaled treatments. It does not relieve a sudden attack, so keep your reliever inhaler with you. Swallow the tablet whole with water after food, as prescribed by your doctor.
Avoiding smoke, dust, cold air and strong fumes, stopping smoking and doing breathing exercises can support lung health. Limiting tea, coffee and cola drinks may reduce side effects.
Before starting, tell your doctor if you have heart disease or an irregular heartbeat, high blood pressure, epilepsy, an overactive thyroid, a stomach ulcer, or liver or kidney disease, and about other medicines you take, especially certain antibiotics and epilepsy medicines. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Seek medical help if you have a fast or irregular heartbeat, persistent vomiting, severe headache, sleeplessness or worsening breathlessness. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
