Dilnip 20 Tablet is used for the following:

• Managing essential hypertension, where high blood pressure has no identifiable cause.

• Used alongside other antihypertensive agents to improve blood pressure control.

• Helps manage hypertension in patients with kidney disease.

• Supports controlling hypertension in diabetic patients.

• Assists in managing hypertension in individuals with metabolic syndrome.

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• It's important not to chew, crush, or break the tablet.

• Always take this medicine on an empty stomach.

Dilnip 20 Tablet is taken orally.

Dilnip 20 Tablet contains cilnidipine (20 mg), which acts on your body in the following ways:

• L-type Calcium Channel Blockade: Cilnidipine inhibits the movement of calcium ions through L-type voltage-dependent calcium channels in certain cells of your blood vessels. By reducing the concentration of calcium inside these cells, it causes relaxation and widening of the blood vessels. This leads to decreased resistance to blood flow, helping lower your blood pressure.

• N-type Calcium Channel Blockage: In addition to blocking L-type channels, cilnidipine also blocks N-type calcium channels found at nerve endings that control your blood vessels' tone. This reduces the release of norepinephrine, a substance that tightens your blood vessels. With less norepinephrine being released, there is less tightening of your blood vessels which helps further reduce your blood pressure.
