Dicorate ER 125 Tablet is used for the following:

• Treatment of different types of epilepsy and seizures

• Management of manic episodes in bipolar disorder

• Prevention of migraine headaches

• Control of simple and complex partial seizures

• Management of absence seizures

• Mood stabilisation in bipolar disorder

• Reduction of aggressiveness in mood disorders

• Supportive therapy for migraine prevention

• Combination therapy with other antiepileptic medicines

Follow these instructions while taking Dicorate ER 125 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush, break or chew the tablet as it is an extended-release formulation.

• You can take this medicine with or without food.

• Take it at the same time each day to maintain consistent levels in your body.

• Never stop taking this medicine suddenly without consulting your doctor.

Dicorate ER 125 Tablet is taken orally.

Dicorate ER 125 Tablet contains divalproex sodium (125 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Increases GABA Levels: Divalproex sodium increases the levels of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), a brain chemical that calms overactive nerve cells in your brain.

• Reduces Neuronal Excitability: By enhancing GABA activity, this medicine decreases excessive electrical activity in your brain, which helps prevent seizures and stabilise mood.

• Controls Brain Signals: It regulates abnormal electrical signals that travel through the brain, helping to prevent the spread of seizure activity from one area to another.

• Stabilises Neural Membranes: Divalproex sodium alters the properties of cell membranes in your brain, making them less likely to fire inappropriately and cause seizures or mood disturbances.

• Store Dicorate ER 125 Tablet at room temperature between 20°C to 25°C.

• Keep in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture.

• Store in the original packaging to protect from environmental exposure.

• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date printed on the package.
