CompositionCovatil 500 Tablet is used to treat a broad range of bacterial infections throughout the body, including infections of the throat, sinuses, lungs, urinary tract, skin, and soft tissues. It also helps in the treatment of conditions such as bronchitis, gonorrhoea, and Lyme disease.
It contains cefuroxime 500mg, a broad-spectrum penicillin antibiotic that kills bacteria by interfering with the synthesis of their protective cell walls. Without this wall, the bacteria cannot survive or multiply, allowing the body's immune defences to clear the infection more effectively.
Take the tablet as directed, with or without food. Complete the full prescribed course, even if you start to feel better before the course is finished, to ensure the infection is fully cleared and to prevent antibiotic resistance.
Nausea, stomach pain, and diarrhoea are Common side effects and are usually mild and short-lived. Tell your doctor if you have a penicillin allergy, history of colitis, or kidney problems before starting this medicine.
