Covance-AT Tablet is commonly used for the following:

• Control of high blood pressure or hypertension

• Management of severe hypertension where prompt blood pressure control is required

• Use as initial therapy when multiple antihypertensive agents are needed to manage blood pressure goals

Follow these instructions when taking Covance-AT Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush, chew or break the tablet.

• Always follow your doctor's advice on how often to take this medicine.

It's crucial not to stop taking this medicine without first consulting your doctor, even if you feel better. Your doctor will have the best advice on managing your dosage based on your health condition and response to treatment.

Covance-AT Tablet is taken orally.

Covance-AT Tablet comprises two active ingredients:

• Losartan (50 mg): This ingredient is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist. It works by blocking the binding of angiotensin II to AT1 receptors. This results in the dilation of blood vessels, reduced secretion of a hormone called aldosterone, and decreased vasopressor activity – the constriction of blood vessels which increases blood pressure.

• Atenolol (50 mg): This component is a selective β1 receptor antagonist. It blocks the action of certain chemicals, notably norepinephrine, on beta-1 adrenergic receptors in your heart and blood vessel muscles. This leads to a reduction in heart rate, cardiac output, systolic and diastolic blood pressure, and reflex orthostatic hypotension – a sudden drop in blood pressure when you stand up.

• Store your Covance-AT Tablet at normal room temperature.

• Protect the medicine from light and dampness to maintain its effectiveness.

• Keep the Covance-AT Tablet in a secure place, out of reach of children.

• Make sure to use the tablet before its expiry date.

• Since Covance-AT Tablet is used to manage high blood pressure, try reducing your salt intake. Eating less salt can help lower blood pressure levels.

• Regular physical activity can also be beneficial. Aim for moderate exercise such as brisk walking or cycling, as it helps in managing hypertension. Always consult your doctor before starting any exercise regimen.
