Clarinova Dry Syrup is used to treat bacterial infections in children aged six months to twelve years. It contains clarithromycin, a macrolide antibiotic, and is effective against chest, throat and sinus infections.
Clarithromycin works by stopping bacteria from producing the proteins they need to grow and multiply, which clears the infection, and it is also used for middle ear inflammation (otitis media) and certain other common childhood bacterial infections.
Give this syrup to your child using the measuring cup provided, at the dose your doctor prescribes based on age and weight, as prescribed with or without food, and complete the full course even if your child feels better early.
Tell your doctor if your child has heart rhythm problems, liver disease, or is taking other medicines, as clarithromycin can interact with several common medicines. Report any persistent vomiting, severe stomach pain, or a rash developing during treatment.
