Budecort 100 Rotacaps is used for the following:

• Long-term management of asthma

• Prevention of asthma symptoms

• Management of chronic bronchitis

• Treatment of shortness of breath

• Prevention of gasping episodes

• Maintenance therapy for respiratory conditions

• Control of breathing difficulties due to lung conditions

Follow these instructions while taking Budecort 100 Rotacaps:

• Place the rotacap in a compatible rotahaler device.

• Puncture the rotacap as per the device instructions.

• Breathe out fully before placing the mouthpiece in your mouth.

• Inhale deeply to ensure the medicine reaches your lungs.

• Hold your breath for a few seconds, then breathe out slowly.

• Rinse your mouth with water after each use.

• Never exhale into the mouthpiece of your device.

• Do not use this medicine for sudden breathing problems.

• Consult your doctor for proper inhaler technique.

Budecort 100 Rotacaps is administered via inhalation.

Budecort 100 Rotacaps contains budesonide (100 mcg), which works on the body as follows:

• Anti-inflammatory action: Budesonide reduces inflammation in the airways by preventing the release of substances in the body that cause inflammation.

• Inhibits inflammatory cells: It decreases the number and activity of inflammatory cells like mast cells, eosinophils, and lymphocytes in the airway tissues and fluids.

• Reduces mucus production: Budesonide helps to decrease excessive mucus production in the airways, which can contribute to breathing difficulties.

• Prevents airway narrowing: By reducing the swelling and inflammation of the airway tissues, it helps keep the airways open, making breathing easier.

• Store Budecort 100 Rotacaps at room temperature (below 30°C).

• Keep out of reach and sight of children.

• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the package.

• Discard the rotahaler after the prescribed number of uses.

• Avoid triggers that worsen breathing problems such as tobacco smoke, air pollution, and strong perfumes, as these can increase the inflammation (swelling) in your airways that Budecort 100 Rotacaps helps to reduce.

• Stay physically active with gentle exercises like walking or swimming to improve your lung capacity and breathing efficiency, which complements the anti-inflammatory effects of budesonide in managing asthma and COPD.
