CompositionBrinzotim Eye Drops are used to manage glaucoma and ocular hypertension by lowering elevated intraocular pressure (IOP). It combines brinzolamide, a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor, with timolol, a non-selective beta-blocker, and reduces fluid production inside the eye.
Brinzolamide and timolol both reduce the production of fluid inside the eye through different mechanisms, and together they lower eye pressure more effectively than either alone, helping protect the optic nerve from damage.
Instil the prescribed number of drops into the affected eye, as your doctor advises, usually twice daily, and after applying, press gently on the inner corner of the eye for about a minute to reduce systemic absorption.
Tell your doctor about any breathing problems such as asthma, heart conditions, or a slow heart rate, as the timolol component is a beta-blocker absorbed through the eye. Remove contact lenses before applying and wait at least fifteen minutes before reinserting them.
