Biospan Tablet 10 is used for the management of irritable bowel syndrome and provides relief from abdominal pain and cramping.

Uses of Biospan Tablet 10 are:

• Irritable Bowel Syndrome: Helps manage this condition and eases intestinal muscle contractions.
• Painful Stomach Spasms: Helps manage spasms in the stomach and intestines.
• Renal and Biliary Colic: May help with pain from kidney stones and gallstones.

Follow these instructions while taking Biospan Tablet 10:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet.

• You can take this medicine with or without food.

• Try to take it at the same time each day for better results.

Biospan Tablet 10 contains hyoscine butylbromide (10 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Blocks Muscarinic Receptors: Hyoscine butylbromide blocks specific receptors called muscarinic receptors in smooth muscle tissue, preventing the action of acetylcholine, a chemical messenger that triggers muscle contractions.

• Reduces Smooth Muscle Spasms: By blocking these receptors, the medicine relaxes the smooth muscles in your digestive tract, urinary tract, and biliary system, reducing painful spasms and cramping.

• Peripheral Action: Unlike other forms of hyoscine, the butylbromide salt doesn't readily cross the blood-brain barrier, meaning it mainly targets muscles outside the brain and produces minimal effects on the central nervous system.

• Normalises Bowel Movements: In IBS patients, the medicine helps regulate excessive contractions in the intestines, which can normalise the pattern of bowel movements and reduce discomfort.

• Store Biospan Tablet 10 in a cool, dry place.

• Keep the medicine in its original packaging, away from direct sunlight and moisture.
