CompositionBILAZEST 20mg Tablet belongs to the antihistamine group of medicines. It is used to relieve symptoms associated with hay fever (allergic rhinitis), such as sneezing, itching, a runny or congested nose, and red or watery eyes.
Bilastine works by blocking histamine, the chemical the body releases during an allergic reaction, which relieves sneezing, nasal symptoms and itchy skin, and it is also used to reduce the itching and swelling of hives (chronic idiopathic urticaria).
Take this tablet as prescribed on an empty stomach, at least one hour before or two hours after food, since food can reduce how well this medicine is absorbed.
This medicine is generally less sedating than older antihistamines, but take care while driving until you know how it affects you. Tell your doctor if you have kidney problems, as your dose may need adjustment.
