Atorva E40 Tablet 10

ATORVA E40 TABLET 10 is used for the following:

• Lowering high levels of total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, triglycerides and apolipoprotein B
• Boosting levels of HDL cholesterol
• Minimising the risk of heart attack, stroke, and other heart complications in people with type 2 diabetes or coronary heart disease
• Management of high cholesterol levels in individuals with inherited cholesterol disorder, known as heterozygous familial hypercholesterolaemia
• Prevention of cardiovascular issues in those with multiple risk factors

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
• The medicine should not be crushed or chewed.
• Do not alter the dosage or stop taking the medicine without speaking to your doctor first.

ATORVA E40 TABLET 10 is taken orally.

ATORVA E40 TABLET 10 consists of two active ingredients:

• Atorvastatin (40 mg): It is an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor that works by inhibiting an enzyme called HMG-CoA reductase. This particular enzyme plays a crucial role in forming cholesterol inside your liver. By blocking its activity, atorvastatin effectively reduces the amount of cholesterol produced in the body. It also increases the number of LDL receptors on liver cells, enhancing the uptake and breakdown of LDL cholesterol.
• Ezetimibe (10 mg): It is a cholesterol absorption inhibitor. It acts at the brush border of your small intestine, inhibiting cholesterol absorption from this region. Consequently, this decreases the amount of cholesterol delivered to your liver. The reduced delivery of cholesterol to your liver results in a decrease in hepatic cholesterol stores and an increase in cholesterol clearance from your blood.

• Store ATORVA E40 TABLET 10 at normal room temperature, ideally between 20°C to 25°C.
• Keep the medicine in its original packaging to protect it from moisture.
• Remember to place it securely, out of sight and reach of children.

• Follow a low-cholesterol diet. This means reducing intake of foods high in saturated fats, such as red meat and full-fat dairy products.
• Incorporate regular physical exercise into your routine. It can help increase 'good' cholesterol levels while reducing 'bad' cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood.
