Composition

Alfuzosin (10 Mg) + Dutasteride (0.5 Mg)

Alfoo D Tablet 10 is used to manage symptoms of an enlarged prostate. It is a combination medicine containing alfuzosin (an alpha-blocker) and dutasteride (a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor).

This medicine helps reduce prostate enlargement and manage urinary symptoms such as weak flow, urgency and frequent urination.

Before starting this medicine, tell your doctor about any pre-existing medical conditions, allergies, and all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Ask your doctor before using this medicine during pregnancy or breastfeeding. This medicine is intended for men only. Report any persistent or serious side effects to your doctor. Do not stop this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.

Alfoo D Tablet 10 is used to manage symptoms associated with an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia) in adult men.

Uses of Alfoo D Tablet 10 are:

Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia: Helps reduce prostate enlargement and manage urinary symptoms such as weak urine flow, urinary urgency, and frequent urination.

Follow these instructions while taking Alfoo-D Tablet:

Take this medicine immediately after a meal with a glass of water.
Swallow the tablet whole without chewing, crushing, or breaking it.
Take it at the same time each day for best results.

Alfoo-D Tablet is taken orally.

Alfoo D Tablet 10 may cause some side effects that are usually mild and go away as your body adjusts to the medicine.

A few common side effects of Alfoo D Tablet 10:

General: Dizziness or light-headedness, especially when starting treatment.
Digestive: Nausea.
Sexual: Reduced sex drive and other changes in sexual function.

If any side effect does not improve or becomes serious, speak to your doctor. Do not stop taking the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.

Management Of Side Effects:

Most side effects are temporary and generally harmless, which resolve on discontinuing the use of Alfoo-D Tablet. However, if you experience any serious side effects or worsening of any of the symptoms, please consult your doctor.

Dizziness: Take Alfoo-D Tablet immediately after a meal to reduce this effect.
Nausea: Taking this medicine with food can help lessen stomach discomfort.

Alfoo-D Tablet contains two active ingredients:

Alfuzosin (10 mg): This component is an alpha-blocker that works by relaxing the smooth muscles in the prostate gland and bladder neck. This relaxation allows urine to flow more easily through the urethra, improving urinary symptoms.
Dutasteride (0.5 mg): This is a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor that blocks the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT is the main hormone responsible for prostate growth. By reducing DHT levels, dutasteride can shrink the prostate over time, further alleviating BPH symptoms.

Pregnancy

Handling of this medicine should be done with care as it contains dutasteride, which can harm a developing male foetus. If you are trying to conceive or if you have a pregnant spouse do not take this medicine.

Alcohol

Alcohol may worsen side effects like dizziness and increase your risk of fainting. Avoid alcohol during your treatment period.

Liver

Caution is advised while taking Alfoo-D Tablet if you have liver problems. This medicine should be used with caution if you have mild to moderate liver impairment and is contraindicated for severe liver disease.

Kidney
