Fourderm Cream 10Gm

Fourderm Cream is used to manage mixed bacterial and fungal skin infections along with associated inflammation in adults.

Uses of Fourderm Cream are:

• Mixed Skin Infections: Controls bacterial and fungal infections affecting the skin.
• Infected Eczema and Dermatitis: Reduces itching, redness, and inflammation in infected skin conditions.
• Psoriasis Support: Helps manage scaly, itchy patches when secondary infection is present.

To use Fourderm Cream, follow these steps:

• Clean and dry the skin area before application.
• Apply a thin layer of the cream to the affected areas.
• Use your fingertip or a clean cotton bud to gently spread the cream.
• Wash your hands before and after applying unless your hands are in the treatment area.

Fourderm Cream is applied topically.

Fourderm Cream consists of four active components:

• Chlorhexidine Gluconate (0.2%): It is an effective antiseptic and disinfectant. It works by eliminating bacteria and preventing infections in minor cuts, wounds, and skin conditions. This component enhances the cream's ability to control bacterial contamination, ensuring proper healing.
• Clobetasol Propionate (0.05%): This is a potent corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory, antipruritic (anti-itching), and vasoconstrictive (narrowing blood vessels) properties. It works by inhibiting the release of substances in the body that cause inflammation and reducing the accumulation of leukocytes (white blood cells) at the affected site.
• Miconazole (2%): This component is an antifungal agent which disrupts the synthesis of fungal cell membranes. It achieves this by inhibiting an enzyme known as 14-alpha-demethylase, which is vital for fungal growth and proliferation.
• Neomycin (0.5%): It is an aminoglycoside antibiotic. It blocks bacterial protein synthesis, leading to the production of non-functional proteins and, eventually, bacterial cell death. It does so by binding to a part of the bacteria known as the 30S ribosomal subunit.

• Store Fourderm Cream at room temperature, ideally below 30°C.
• Keep the cream in a tightly closed container to protect it from excessive moisture.
• Avoid exposure to direct sunlight.
• Always keep this medicine out of the reach of children, for safety reasons.
• Ensure you use the cream before its expiry date for maximum effectiveness.

• Wash your hands and body regularly with mild soap and water to keep the skin clean and prevent the spread of infections.
• Moisture can promote fungal growth. Ensure that affected areas are kept dry, especially in skin folds or areas prone to sweating.
• Do not share towels, razors, or personal items that come into contact with your skin to minimise the risk of spreading or acquiring infections.
