Zotide Cartridge is used to treat severe osteoporosis in postmenopausal women and men who are at a high risk of bone fractures. It helps increase bone mineral density and strengthen bones, reducing the likelihood of spine and hip fractures.
It contains teriparatide, a synthetic form of human parathyroid hormone. It is administered as a subcutaneous injection under the skin as prescribed by your doctor. It is usually prescribed for a maximum duration of two years, so continue treatment for the full duration recommended by your specialist.
Bone health can be supported by eating a balanced diet rich in calcium and vitamin D, engaging in weight-bearing exercises as advised, and avoiding smoking or excessive alcohol intake.
Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if you have kidney stones, hypercalcaemia, Paget's disease, or liver conditions. Your doctor may monitor your blood and urine calcium levels regularly during therapy.
