Wymox Capsule is used to treat bacterial infections affecting different parts of the body, including respiratory tract infections such as bronchitis, pneumonia, and tonsillitis. It is also effective for urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and dental infections like abscesses. This capsule is used in combination therapy for Helicobacter pylori infection and is prescribed to prevent endocarditis in high-risk patients undergoing dental procedures.

Take Wymox Capsule as per the following guidelines:

• Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water.

• You can take it with or without food.

Wymox Capsule contains amoxycillin (500 mg). Here's how it works:

• Bacterial cell wall synthesis inhibition: Amoxycillin acts by attaching itself to certain proteins (penicillin-binding proteins) in bacteria. These proteins are involved in forming peptidoglycan, a major building block of the bacterial cell wall.

• Bacterial cell lysis: Once amoxycillin has attached itself to these proteins, it disrupts the formation of peptidoglycan. This leads to damage and breakage of the bacterial cell wall (cell lysis), causing the death of susceptible bacteria.

Amoxycillin has bactericidal activity meaning it kills bacteria rather than just inhibiting their growth. It is effective against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.

• Store Wymox Capsule in a tightly sealed container.

• Keep it at room temperature, ideally between 15-30°C.

• Protect the medicine from excessive moisture and light.
