Walamycin Suspension 30ml

Walamycin Suspension 30ml is used to treat infantile infectious diarrhoea.

Uses of Walamycin Suspension 30ml are:

• Infantile infectious diarrhoea: Used to treat diarrhoea caused by susceptible bacteria in infants.

• To ensure the proper use of this medicine, give it to your child in the dose and for the duration prescribed by the doctor.
• Before giving the medicine to your child, carefully read the directions on the label. Use the provided measuring cup to measure the prescribed amount. Shake the bottle well before giving the suspension.

Walamycin suspension is typically administered orally. 

Walamycin Suspension contains the following active ingredient:

• Colistin sulphate (12.5 mg/5 mL): Colistin acts on susceptible Gram-negative bacteria by interacting with their cell membranes, causing changes in membrane permeability and leakage of cell contents, which can lead to bacterial cell death.

• Store below 30° C in a cool, dry place.
• Keep the medicine in its original packaging to protect it from heat and moisture.
• Store out of sight and reach of children.
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack.
• Dispose of unused or expired medicine according to local pharmacy guidance.

• Give oral rehydration solution (ORS) as advised by the doctor to help replace fluids and electrolytes lost during diarrhoea. 
• Give your child nutritious foods during diarrhoea. Breastfeeding should also be continued in breastfed children. 
• Make sure the child washes their hands with soap and water and maintain good food and personal hygiene to help prevent the spread of infection.
