Volix Trio 1 Tablet is used for triple-combination therapy to achieve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Uses of Volix Trio 1 Tablet are:

• Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: Lowers blood glucose levels when diet, exercise, and other single or dual medicines fail to give target control.
• Post-Meal and Basal Sugar Control: Targets both post-meal sugar spikes and fasting glucose levels.
• Complication Risk Reduction: Helps protect against long-term diabetic complications involving the eyes, kidneys, and nerves.

• It should be swallowed whole with a glass of water.

• Refrain from crushing, chewing or splitting the tablet.

• Always take it around meal times, preferably just before or with the first meal of the day.

• Do not adjust your dose or stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor.

Volix Trio 1 Tablet is taken orally.

Volix Trio 1 Tablet contains three active components that work together to control blood glucose levels:

• Glimepiride (1 mg): This component belongs to a class of medicines known as sulfonylureas. It works by stimulating the pancreas to secrete more insulin, which helps reduce blood sugar levels.

• Metformin (500 mg): Classified as a biguanide, metformin reduces glucose production in the liver and improves how insulin works in the body, thereby reducing blood sugar levels.

• Voglibose (0.2 mg): This alpha-glucosidase inhibitor delays carbohydrate absorption in your intestines. By doing so, it slows down glucose absorption and helps prevent sudden increases in blood sugar after meals.

• Store Volix Trio 1 Tablet at room temperature, ideally below 30°C.

• Keep the medicine in a tightly closed container to safeguard it from light and moisture.

• Do not expose the tablet to extreme heat, cold or dampness.

• Always keep this medicine out of reach of children.

• Make sure you use the medicine before the expiry date mentioned on the pack.

• Maintain a balanced and healthy diet. Include whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins. Limiting your intake of sugary foods and drinks can help manage your blood sugar levels, an important aspect when taking Volix Trio 1 Tablet.

• Regular physical activity is key. Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise, like walking or cycling, daily. This can enhance your body's sensitivity to insulin and help you manage type 2 diabetes effectively.
