It combines glimepiride, a sulfonylurea that stimulates the pancreas to release more insulin; metformin, which improves the body's response to insulin and reduces the glucose made by the liver; and voglibose, an alpha-glucosidase inhibitor that slows the digestion and absorption of carbohydrates, helping reduce the rise in blood sugar after meals. Take it just before meals or with the first bite of a meal as prescribed, and do not skip meals.
A balanced diet with controlled carbohydrate intake, regular meals at set times, regular activity and routine blood sugar monitoring support better control alongside this medicine.
Tell your doctor about any kidney or liver problems before starting, and about other medicines you take. Learn the signs of low blood sugar (shakiness, sweating, hunger) and how to treat them, and report frequent episodes.
