Viltab 50/500 Tablet serves the following uses:

• Managing blood sugar levels in type 2 diabetes

• Enhancing insulin sensitivity in muscles and fat tissues

• Reducing liver-produced glucose

• Increasing glucose uptake and its usage by muscles and fat tissues

• Assisting patients who have not gained satisfactory control over their blood sugar with metformin or vildagliptin alone

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet.

• Always take this medicine with meals.

• Remember, it's crucial not to stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor.

Viltab 50/500 Tablet is taken orally.

Viltab 50/500 Tablet contains two active ingredients:

• Metformin (500 mg): A biguanide, this component works mainly by reducing the amount of sugar produced by your liver and increasing your body's sensitivity to insulin, a hormone that manages the absorption of sugar by your cells. Metformin also helps your body to utilise sugar better and can decrease the absorption of sugar from your stomach, contributing to the overall regulation of your blood sugar levels.

• Vildagliptin (50 mg): This is a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor. It functions by increasing the levels of hormones in your body that make your pancreas produce more insulin and your liver produce less sugar. These hormones are usually broken down by an enzyme called DPP-4; vildagliptin blocks this action, thereby prolonging the activity of these hormones and enhancing their effects on sugar regulation.
