CompositionVertin OD 24mg Tablet is used to manage Ménière's disease, an inner ear disorder that causes episodes of vertigo, tinnitus, hearing loss and a feeling of fullness in the ear. It contains betahistine, a histamine analogue that helps improve blood flow within the inner ear.
Take it as prescribed, preferably with food to reduce the chance of stomach upset. Continue taking it regularly, even between vertigo episodes, as it helps reduce the frequency and severity of future attacks over time.
Avoiding sudden head movements during a vertigo episode, sitting or lying down when you feel dizzy, and reducing salt and caffeine intake may help ease symptoms of Ménière's disease alongside this medicine.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have asthma, a history of stomach ulcers, or phaeochromocytoma (a rare adrenal gland tumour). Tell your doctor if your vertigo, hearing loss, or tinnitus worsens despite treatment. Speak to your doctor before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
