Tropan XL 5 Tablet is used to manage symptoms of an overactive bladder in adults, including urinary urgency, frequency and urge incontinence, where a sudden strong urge leads to involuntary leakage of urine.
It contains oxybutynin, an anticholinergic (antimuscarinic) medicine. Swallow the tablet whole with or without food, as prescribed, and do not crush or chew it. Continue taking it for the duration prescribed by your doctor, even if you feel well.
Bladder training, such as scheduled toilet visits, and reducing caffeine intake can help alongside this medicine in managing overactive bladder symptoms. Sipping water regularly can help with dry mouth caused by the medicine.
Tell your doctor if you have glaucoma, urinary retention, or stomach or bowel problems before starting. Report severe constipation, difficulty passing urine, or blurred vision that does not improve immediately.
