Tiomate Transhaler is used for the following:

• Long-term management of airflow obstruction in patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).

• Helping to relax the muscles around the airways, making it easier to breathe for COPD patients.

• Sustained improvement in lung function throughout the day for individuals with COPD.

• Providing comprehensive, 24-hour relief from COPD symptoms.

Follow these instructions while using Tiomate Transhaler:

• Open the device and place a capsule in the chamber.

• Close the device until you hear a "click" sound. This pierces the capsule, releasing the medicine.

• Breathe out fully, away from the device.

• Place the mouthpiece between your lips and inhale rapidly and steadily.

• Hold your breath for 5-10 seconds, then breathe out slowly.

• Open the device to check if any powder is still in the capsule. If so, repeat the inhalation process.

• Discard the used capsule and close your device.

Tiomate Transhaler is administered via inhalation.

Tiomate Transhaler comprises two active components, each contributing to its effectiveness:

• Formoterol fumarate (6 mcg): This component is a long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonist (LABA). In simple terms, it stimulates certain receptors in your lungs, causing the muscles around the airways to relax. This process, known as bronchodilation, improves airflow and reduces severe muscle contractions or bronchospasms.

• Tiotropium (9 mcg): Tiotropium is a long-acting muscarinic antagonist (LAMA), essentially blocking a certain chemical in your lungs. This action prevents contraction of airways, leading to a sustained relaxation of the airways throughout the day.

• Keep your Tiomate Transhaler at a normal room temperature.

• Avoid placing it in damp or moist areas like the bathroom.

• Always keep it in a closed container, away from direct light and heat.

• Remember to keep it out of reach of children.

• Take note of the expiry date and make sure to use the medication before this date.

• Engage in regular, doctor-recommended physical activities such as walking or light aerobic exercises. This will help improve your lung function and manage your Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) symptoms better.
