Timsart M 40/50 MG Tablet 10 is used to control high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults, especially when one medicine alone is not enough. Keeping blood pressure controlled helps reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke and kidney problems.
It is a combination of telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that relaxes blood vessels, and metoprolol, a beta-blocker that slows the heart rate and eases the heart's workload. Take it daily as prescribed. Do not stop it suddenly, as the beta-blocker part should be reduced gradually.
Reducing salt in your diet, staying active, keeping to a healthy weight and limiting alcohol support better blood pressure control alongside this medicine.
Tell your doctor about any asthma, a very slow heart rate, kidney problems or diabetes before starting, and about other medicines you take. Avoid this medicine in pregnancy. Report marked dizziness, a very slow heartbeat or breathlessness.
