Theo-Asthalin Tablet is used for the regular management of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in adults. It is a combination bronchodilator medicine containing salbutamol and theophylline.
It helps open the airways to ease wheezing, cough, chest tightness and breathlessness. It is a maintenance medicine and is not meant for a sudden breathing attack. Take it with or without food in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor, without missing doses.
Avoiding large amounts of caffeine, such as strong tea, coffee or cola, which can increase side effects, and staying away from smoke and dust support treatment.
Before starting, tell your doctor about any heart disease, an overactive thyroid, stomach ulcers or seizures, and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Theophylline interacts with several medicines. Report a fast or irregular heartbeat, or worsening breathing. Ask your doctor before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
