Thalidomile 50 Capsule 10

THALIDOMILE 50 CAPSULE 10 is used for the following:

• Treatment of multiple myeloma

• Management of newly diagnosed multiple myeloma

• Treatment of multiple myeloma in elderly patients

• Management of multiple myeloma with other medicines

• Treatment of severe skin reactions in leprosy

• Management of erythema nodosum leprosum

• Control of inflammatory responses in lepra reactions

Follow these instructions while taking THALIDOMILE 50 CAPSULE 10:

• Take the capsule whole with a full glass of water.

• It is best to take this medicine at bedtime.

• Do not break, crush, or chew the capsule.

• You can take this medicine with or without food.

THALIDOMILE 50 CAPSULE 10 is taken orally.

THALIDOMILE 50 CAPSULE 10 contains Thalidomide (50 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Immunomodulation: Thalidomide adjusts the functioning of your immune system by regulating various immune responses, helping to control abnormal cell growth in multiple myeloma.

• Anti-inflammatory action: It inhibits the production of tumour necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), an inflammatory chemical in your body that contributes to tissue damage and inflammation in conditions like lepra reactions.

• Immune cell regulation: Thalidomide alters the activity of specific immune cells, helping to reduce inappropriate immune responses that can worsen certain conditions.

• Plasma cell control: It helps manage the abnormal growth of plasma cells (a type of white blood cell) in the bone marrow, which is particularly important in multiple myeloma management.

• Store THALIDOMILE 50 CAPSULE 10 at room temperature.

• Keep the medicine protected from light and moisture.

• Store in the original packaging until ready to use.

• Keep out of reach and sight of children.

• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date printed on the package.

• Return unused capsules to your pharmacy for safe disposal.

• If you have multiple myeloma, try to include more calcium and vitamin D-rich foods (like dairy products, leafy greens, and fortified cereals) in your diet to help maintain bone strength, as this cancer can weaken bones.

• For patients with lepra reactions, consuming anti-inflammatory foods such as turmeric, ginger, and omega-3-rich fish may help complement the immunomodulatory (immune system-regulating) effects of thalidomide.
