Telmiwock 40 Tablet is used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) and to lower the risk of heart attack, stroke, and kidney problems in adults at high cardiovascular risk. It also helps protect kidney function in people with diabetes.
It contains telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker. It can be prescribed alone or alongside other blood pressure medicines, and can be taken with or without food, but take it as prescribed. Continue taking it regularly even if you feel well, as high blood pressure often has no symptoms, and stopping suddenly may cause your blood pressure to rise again.
Healthy lifestyle changes form an important part of managing high blood pressure. These include reducing salt in your diet, staying physically active, maintaining a healthy weight, and limiting alcohol as advised by your doctor.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have any kidney or liver problems, low blood pressure, or are taking other medicines. It is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Your doctor may check your kidney function and potassium levels at regular intervals while you are taking this medicine.
