Telista 20 Tablet is used for managing the following conditions:

• High blood pressure in adults, also known as essential hypertension

• Reducing the risk of severe heart-related events such as heart attacks and strokes

• Lowering the chances of death from cardiovascular causes in high-risk adults aged 55 years and above, unable to take ACE inhibitors

When taking Telista 20 Tablet, follow these instructions:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Avoid breaking, crushing, or chewing the tablet.

• Do not exceed the recommended dose without consulting your doctor.

• It's crucial not to stop taking this medication without first discussing it with your doctor.

Telista 20 Tablet is taken orally.

Telista 20 Tablet contains Telmisartan (20mg), which works on the body through the following mechanisms:

• Angiotensin II Receptor Blockage: Telmisartan blocks the binding of angiotensin II to AT1 receptors. Angiotensin II is a potent substance that can narrow (constrict) your blood vessels, leading to increased blood pressure. By blocking its effects, telmisartan helps your blood vessels to relax, thereby reducing blood pressure.

• Inhibition of Renin Secretion Negative Feedback: Blocking angiotensin II receptors also inhibits the negative feedback on renin secretion. However, the resulting increase in plasma renin activity does not counteract the blood pressure-lowering effect of telmisartan.

• Store Telista 20 Tablet at a temperature below 25°C, away from direct sunlight.

• Avoid storing in damp places, like the bathroom, to prevent moisture damage.

• Always keep the medicine out of reach of children.

• Remember to use your medication before the expiry date mentioned on the packet.

• Since Telista 20 Tablet is prescribed for managing high blood pressure, it'd be beneficial to limit your salt intake. Excess salt can raise your blood pressure further.

• Regular exercise can help lower your blood pressure. Try to incorporate about 30 minutes of moderate activity, like brisk walking, into your daily routine. However, always consult your doctor before starting any new exercise programme.
