Versitol Retard 300 Tablet 10 is used for the following:

• Treatment of epilepsy and seizures

• Management of generalised tonic-clonic seizures

• Control of partial seizures

• Relief from trigeminal neuralgia

• Easing severe facial nerve pain

• Stabilising mood in certain psychiatric disorders

• Reducing excessive electrical brain activity

• Prevention of seizure recurrence

• Long-term seizure management in adults

• Blocking abnormal nerve impulses in the brain

Follow these instructions while taking Versitol Retard 300 Tablet 10:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Take the tablet with or without food, but be consistent.

• Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet.

• Take the medicine regularly at the same time each day.

• Never stop taking this medicine suddenly without consulting your doctor.

• If you have trouble swallowing the tablet, speak with your doctor.

Versitol Retard 300 Tablet 10 is taken orally.

Versitol Retard 300 Tablet 10 contains Carbamazepine (300 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Sodium Channel Blockade: Carbamazepine blocks sodium channels on nerve cell membranes, which reduces excessive electrical activity in the brain that can trigger seizures.

• Nerve Signal Stabilisation: It stabilises overactive nerve impulses, particularly in the trigeminal nerve, helping to reduce the intense facial pain associated with trigeminal neuralgia.

• Neurotransmitter Regulation: The medicine modulates levels of certain brain chemicals (neurotransmitters) that help control mood and electrical activity, contributing to its effectiveness as a mood stabiliser.

• Seizure Threshold Elevation: Carbamazepine raises the threshold at which seizures can occur, making it more difficult for abnormal electrical activity to spread throughout the brain.

Follow these instructions while storing Versitol Retard 300 Tablet 10 :

• Store Versitol Retard 300 Tablet 10 at room temperature.

• Keep the medicine in its original tightly closed container.

• Do not use this medicine after its expiry date.

• Avoid alcohol consumption: Alcohol may increase the side effects of carbamazepine and reduce seizure control. Limiting alcohol intake helps maintain the effectiveness of your medicine.

• Maintain a regular sleep schedule: Sleep deprivation can trigger seizures in people with epilepsy. Try to go to bed and wake up at the same times each day.
