Tamfil DS Capsule is used to help manage kidney stones by helping stones pass more easily and reducing the associated pain, swelling and inflammation. It is a combination medicine containing tamsulosin and deflazacort, and belongs to the classes of alpha-blockers and corticosteroids.
This medicine helps ease the passage of stones through the urinary tract. Take it with food, and swallow the capsule whole with water without crushing or chewing it. Use the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor.
Drinking adequate amounts of water throughout the day helps support stone passage and may help prevent new stones from forming. Your doctor may also advise dietary changes, such as reducing salt and animal protein, to lower your risk of future stones.
Tell your doctor about any planned eye surgery, particularly cataract surgery, liver or kidney problems, low blood pressure, diabetes or an active infection before starting this medicine, and about any other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Speak to your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding. Rise slowly from sitting or lying positions to reduce the risk of dizziness. Tell your doctor about significant dizziness or urinary changes, and report any side effects that persist or become serious. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
