CompositionSucrafil O Gel is a medicine used to manage acidity, heartburn, gastritis, and stomach and duodenal ulcers. It also helps relieve painful swallowing, for example in people undergoing radiation therapy to the chest or throat.
It contains sucralfate, which forms a protective layer over the stomach lining, and oxetacaine, a local anaesthetic that soothes pain. Take it as prescribed by your doctor, ideally on an empty stomach before meals or as directed. Shake the suspension well before use. Do not take other oral medicines within two hours of taking this suspension, as it may affect their absorption.
Avoid spicy, acidic, and fatty foods, caffeine, and alcohol during treatment, as these aggravate acidity and slow healing. Eat small, regular meals and avoid lying down immediately after eating.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have any kidney problems, as aluminium in sucralfate may accumulate in people with impaired kidney function. Tell your doctor about all other medicines you are taking. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should seek medical advice before use.
