Storvas CV 40 Tablet contains two active ingredients:

• Atorvastatin (40 mg): Atorvastatin falls into the statin class of lipid-lowering medicines. It functions by competitively inhibiting an enzyme in your body called HMG-CoA reductase. This enzyme plays a key role in forming cholesterol inside your body. As a result, it decreases cholesterol production in the liver, increases the clearance of LDL cholesterol from your blood, and reduces total cholesterol, LDL, and triglycerides. It also helps marginally increase HDL.

• Clopidogrel (75 mg): Clopidogrel is an antiplatelet agent that prevents the formation of blood clots. It does this by irreversibly binding to certain receptors on platelets, which are small blood cells contributing to blood clotting. This inhibits the activation of the glycoprotein IIb/IIIa complex, a necessary step in blood clot formation, thereby reducing the risk of heart attack and stroke.
