StorFib 145 Tablet is used to manage high levels of total cholesterol, reduce LDL (bad) cholesterol and triglycerides, increase HDL (good) cholesterol, and decrease the risk of heart disease, stroke, and heart attack in individuals with multiple risk factors. It also helps manage familial hypercholesterolemia, a genetic condition causing high cholesterol levels.

StorFib 145 Tablet combines two active ingredients:

• Atorvastatin (10 mg): This substance works by competitively inhibiting an enzyme called HMG-CoA reductase, which plays a vital role in producing cholesterol within your liver. It also increases LDL receptors in liver cells, enhancing the uptake and breakdown of LDL cholesterol. Furthermore, it reduces the production of VLDL, a precursor of LDL. The summed effect is a reduction in total cholesterol, LDL levels and triglycerides.

• Fenofibrate (145 mg): This ingredient activates a receptor known as PPAR-α, which helps increase the activity of an enzyme called lipoprotein lipase that breaks down triglycerides in VLDL and chylomicrons. Additionally, it reduces the production of apolipoprotein C-III, which inhibits lipoprotein lipase while increasing the synthesis of apolipoproteins A-I and A-II, key proteins in HDL. It also helps reduce serum uric acid levels by encouraging urinary excretion. The overall result is a significant reduction in triglycerides, VLDL, total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol, along with an increase in HDL levels.
