Stamlo Beta Tablet is used to manage high blood pressure and angina (chest pain). It is a combination medicine containing amlodipine (a calcium channel blocker) and atenolol (a beta-blocker).
Regular use helps lower the risk of serious complications such as stroke, kidney disease and heart failure. Take it in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor, and do not stop it suddenly, as this can cause a dangerous rise in blood pressure.
Eat less salt (pickles, papad, packaged snacks), exercise regularly as advised, keep to a healthy weight and avoid smoking.
Before starting, tell your doctor if you have asthma, a very slow heart rate or diabetes and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take, as atenolol can tighten the airways and hide the warning signs of low blood sugar. Report a very slow pulse or marked breathlessness to your doctor. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
