Salazar Tablet is used to manage inflammatory bowel diseases and certain arthritic conditions, including ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis. It helps reduce inflammation and ease related symptoms such as pain, swelling and stiffness.
It contains sulfasalazine, an anti-inflammatory medicine. Take it as prescribed, usually with or after food, to reduce stomach upset. Continue taking it for the duration advised by your doctor, even if you feel well, as ongoing treatment helps control inflammation.
Staying well hydrated and maintaining a folate-rich diet can help support this medicine, as it may reduce folic acid absorption. Regular exercise and joint-friendly activity can also help manage arthritic symptoms.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have any kidney or liver problems, a known allergy to sulfa medicines or aspirin, or are taking other medicines. Report any unusual skin changes, sore throat, fever or unexplained bruising, as regular blood tests may be needed. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before use.
