Risofos 35 Tablet is used to treat and prevent osteoporosis and to manage other conditions that weaken the bones. It helps maintain or improve bone density and helps reduce the risk of fractures in the spine and hips.
It contains risedronate, a bisphosphonate taken once weekly. Take it first thing in the morning on an empty stomach with a full glass of plain water. Stay upright (sitting, standing, or walking) for at least 30 minutes after taking it, and do not eat or drink anything other than water during this time.
Adequate calcium and vitamin D are important for bone health alongside this medicine. Your doctor may advise supplements if your diet does not provide enough. Weight-bearing exercise such as walking and strength training also helps maintain bone density.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor about any oesophageal or swallowing problems, kidney disease, or jaw or dental problems. Tell your doctor about any chest pain or new swallowing difficulty after taking it. Speak to your doctor before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
