Gemfos Tablet 4

Gemfos Tablet 4is used for the following:

• Treatment of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women

• Prevention of bone fractures

• Increasing bone mass in men with osteoporosis

• Managing glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis

• Treatment of Paget's disease of bone

Follow these instructions while taking Gemfos Tablet 4:.

• Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of plain water.

• Do not crush, chew, or suck on the tablet.

• Take it on an empty stomach.

• Wait at least 30 minutes before eating, drinking, or taking other medicines.

• Remain upright (sitting or standing) for at least 30 minutes after taking this medicine.

• Take this medicine exactly as your doctor has advised.

Gemfos Tablet 4is taken orally.

Gemfos Tablet 4contains risedronate (35 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Osteoclast Inhibition: Risedronate suppresses the activity of osteoclasts, cells responsible for breaking down and resorbing bone tissue, thus slowing bone loss.

• Bone Mineral Density Enhancement: By reducing bone resorption, risedronate helps increase bone mineral density, making bones stronger and less susceptible to fractures.

• Bone Metabolism Regulation: This medicine helps restore the balance between bone formation and breakdown, leading to healthier bone structure.

• Fracture Risk Reduction: Through its action on bone tissue, risedronate significantly reduces the risk of vertebral and non-vertebral fractures in patients with osteoporosis.

• Store the tablet at temperatures not exceeding 30°C.

• Protect from light and moisture exposure.

• Keep the medicine in its original packaging until use.

• Store all medicines safely out of reach of children.

• Check the expiry date before use and discard properly if expired.

• Ensure adequate calcium intake through dairy products, leafy greens, and fortified foods while taking Gemfos Tablet 4. Proper calcium levels are essential for bone health and osteoporosis management.

• Maintain regular weight-bearing exercise (like walking or light resistance training) to help strengthen bones and complement the bone-building effects of risedronate.
