Respicure-D Syrup is used to relieve a dry, tickly cough that does not produce phlegm, along with a blocked or runny nose and sneezing caused by cold or allergy symptoms.
It contains dextromethorphan, phenylephrine and chlorpheniramine. Dextromethorphan acts on the cough centre in the brain to reduce the urge to cough, phenylephrine helps clear a blocked nose, and chlorpheniramine helps ease sneezing and a runny nose caused by allergies. Take it with the measuring cup provided, as prescribed.
Staying well hydrated, resting adequately and using a humidifier or steam inhalation, as advised, can help soothe an irritated throat and airway alongside this medicine.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor about any high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, thyroid problems or other medicines you take. This syrup can cause drowsiness, so avoid driving or operating machinery after taking it. Consult your doctor if the cough lasts more than a week or is accompanied by high fever or thick green mucus.
