Reclide MR 30 Tablet is used to manage type 2 diabetes.

Reclide MR 30 Tablet contains gliclazide (30 mg) which works on your body as follows:

• Binding and Closing Potassium Channels: Gliclazide binds to and closes ATP-sensitive potassium channels on pancreatic beta cell membranes. This action triggers a change in electrical charge across these cells.

• Opening Calcium Channels: Once the potassium channels are closed, voltage-gated calcium channels open up, leading to calcium influx. The rise in intracellular calcium stimulates the release of insulin-containing granules.

• Enhancing Insulin Secretion: Gliclazide increases insulin secretion from pancreatic beta cells in a glucose-dependent manner. This means its effect is more pronounced when blood glucose levels are high and minimal when they are low.
