Prax A 75 Capsule 10

Prax A 75 Capsule is used in adults with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) undergoing or following percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) to prevent blood clots and reduce the risk of heart attack and stent thrombosis.

Uses of Prax A 75 Capsule are:

• Blood Clot Prevention: Helps prevent dangerous blood clots from forming in people with acute coronary syndrome undergoing PCI.
• Acute Coronary Syndrome: Used after a heart attack or acute coronary syndrome to reduce the risk of further events.
• Angioplasty and Stenting: Helps maintain blood flow and protect newly placed stents.

Follow these instructions while taking Prax A 75 Capsule:

• Swallow the capsule whole with a meal.
• Do not crush, chew, or open the capsule.
• Ensure you take this medicine at a fixed time each day.
• Consult your doctor if you miss a dose; avoid taking double doses to make up for it.

Prax A 75 Capsule contains two active ingredients:

• Aspirin (75 mg): As an antiplatelet agent, aspirin works by irreversibly inhibiting a key enzyme in your body known as cyclooxygenase1 (COX1). This enzyme plays a crucial role in the production of thromboxane A2, a substance that promotes platelet aggregation, leading to clot formation. By blocking COX1, aspirin effectively reduces platelet aggregation and thus prevents clot formation.

   

• Prasugrel (10 mg): Prasugrel is another potent antiplatelet agent. It is actually a prodrug, meaning it becomes active only after being metabolised within your body. Once activated, prasugrel blocks the P2Y12 component of ADP receptors on the surface of platelets in your blood stream. This action inhibits platelet activation and aggregation, further reducing the chances of clot formation.
