Polynase Eye Ointment is used to treat bacterial eye infections, including bacterial conjunctivitis and infections affecting the surface of the eye. It helps reduce redness, discharge, irritation, and discomfort caused by the infection.
It contains chloramphenicol and polymyxin B, two antibiotics that act against susceptible bacteria. Apply a small strip inside the lower eyelid exactly as prescribed by your doctor and complete the prescribed course.
Wash your hands before and after use, do not touch the tube tip to the eye or any surface, and avoid contact lenses during treatment unless your doctor says otherwise.
Temporary blurred vision may occur after application and should clear. Stop using the ointment and contact your doctor if irritation or redness worsens, or if you develop swelling or another allergic reaction.
