CompositionPantodac DSR Capsule is used to manage acid reflux (GERD), acidity and heartburn, particularly when these symptoms come with nausea or vomiting. It is a combination medicine containing pantoprazole (a proton pump inhibitor) and domperidone (a prokinetic), and belongs to a group of medicines used for acid-related stomach disorders.
It is also used in the management of peptic ulcers in the stomach and the first part of the small intestine. This medicine lowers the amount of acid your stomach makes and helps food move through the stomach more easily. Take it on an empty stomach, preferably before breakfast, and swallow it whole. Use it in the dose and for the duration your doctor prescribes.
Eating smaller, more frequent meals, limiting spicy or oily food and caffeine, and waiting a few hours after a meal before lying down can support your treatment. Stopping smoking and keeping a healthy weight may also help reduce reflux.
Tell your doctor before starting if you have liver, kidney or heart problems, including an irregular heartbeat, and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Long-term use may need monitoring of magnesium levels and bone health, so keep up with any check-ups your doctor advises. Report palpitations, fainting or any persistent side effect to your doctor. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
