Omey Capsule 20

Omey Capsule 20 is used for the following conditions:

• Management of gastroesophageal reflux disease, commonly known as GERD
• Controlling acid reflux and heartburn symptoms
• Helping to heal peptic ulcer disease including gastric and duodenal ulcers
• Controlling excess stomach acid in Zollinger-Ellison syndrome
• Healing of erosive oesophagitis, a condition causing inflammation and damage to the oesophagus
• Assisting in the eradication of H. pylori bacteria when used alongside antibiotics

Here's how you should take Omey Capsule 20:

1. Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water.
2. Do not chew or crush the capsule.
3. Take it preferably on an empty stomach, at least 1 hour before a meal.
4. Always follow your doctor's advice on how and when to take this medicine.

Omey Capsule 20 is taken orally.

Omey Capsule 20 contains omeprazole (20 mg). Here's how it works:

• Blocks H+/K+ ATPase enzyme system: The active ingredient omeprazole in Omey Capsule 20 effectively blocks the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme system, also known as the proton pump. This enzyme system is found in gastric parietal cells, which are responsible for secreting stomach acid.
• Reduces Stomach Acid Production: By inhibiting this proton pump, omeprazole significantly reduces the amount of acid produced in the stomach. This action helps manage symptoms and promotes healing in various gastrointestinal conditions related to excessive stomach acid.

1. Store Omey Capsule 20 at room temperature, ideally between 20-25°C.
2. Keep the medicine in a dry place, shielded from direct light and moisture.
3. Ensure you keep this medicine out of reach of children.
4. Always use the medicine before its expiry date.

• If you're experiencing gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD) or acid reflux, try reducing your intake of spicy and fatty foods. These can aggravate your symptoms by increasing stomach acid production.
• For those managing peptic ulcer disease, try to avoid alcohol and smoking as these habits can worsen your condition by promoting stomach acidity.
