Olmesar Ch 40/6.25 Tablet 10 is used for the following:

• Treatment of essential hypertension

• Management of high blood pressure

• Prevention of heart attacks

• Reduction of stroke risk

• Protection against kidney damage

• Prevention of vision problems

• Reduction of cardiovascular complications

Follow these instructions while taking Olmesar Ch 40/6.25 Tablet 10:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water.

• Do not crush, break, or chew the tablet.

• Take it at the same time each day for best results.

• This medicine can be taken with or without food, but be consistent.

Olmesar Ch 40/6.25 Tablet 10 is taken orally.

Olmesar Ch 40/6.25 Tablet 10 contains two active ingredients:

• Olmesartan medoxomil (40 mg): This component belongs to a class called angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs). It works by selectively blocking the binding of angiotensin II to AT1 receptors in your blood vessels. This action causes your blood vessels to relax and widen, which decreases vascular resistance and lowers your blood pressure.

• Chlorthalidone (6.25 mg): This is a thiazide-like diuretic that acts on your kidneys. It inhibits the reabsorption of sodium and water in the kidneys, which increases urinary excretion. This process reduces your blood volume, thereby lowering your blood pressure.

• Store Olmesar Ch 40/6.25 Tablet 10 at room temperature not exceeding 30°C.

• Keep the tablets in their original packaging to protect from moisture.

• Store in a dry place away from direct sunlight.

• Keep out of reach of children.

• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date printed on the package.

• Reduce your salt intake by avoiding processed foods and not adding extra salt to meals, as high sodium consumption can worsen high blood pressure (hypertension).
