CompositionNORILET OZ Tablet is used to treat mixed bacterial and protozoal infections affecting the digestive, urinary and respiratory systems. It combines ofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic, with ornidazole, used against anaerobic bacteria and protozoal parasites.
Ofloxacin stops bacteria from copying their genetic material, killing them, while ornidazole works similarly against anaerobic bacteria and certain parasites, together eliminating the infection-causing organisms responsible for conditions such as diarrhoea and dysentery.
Take this tablet as your doctor prescribes, preferably with food to reduce stomach upset, and complete the full course of treatment even if you begin to feel better.
Avoid exposure to bright sunlight, as ofloxacin can increase sensitivity to UV light, and avoid alcohol during and for at least 72 hours after treatment. If you develop tendon pain or swelling during treatment, stop the medicine and contact your doctor promptly.
