NICOMALOM 2 TABLET 30 is used to prevent and treat blood clots in the veins (deep vein thrombosis) and lungs (pulmonary embolism), to reduce the risk of stroke in people with atrial fibrillation, and to prevent blood clots in people with artificial heart valves or a high risk of heart attack.
It contains nicoumalone, a vitamin K antagonist oral anticoagulant. The dose is adjusted based on regular blood test results (INR), which measure how long it takes for blood to clot. Take it at the same time each day as prescribed, and do not change the dose or stop it without medical advice.
Keeping your vitamin K intake consistent (such as not suddenly increasing leafy green vegetables), attending all INR monitoring appointments and avoiding alcohol in large amounts support safe treatment alongside this medicine.
Tell your doctor about all medicines, vitamins and herbal supplements you take, as many interact with this medicine. Report any unusual or prolonged bleeding, blood in urine or stools, or severe headache or weakness (which can be signs of internal bleeding) immediately.
