Nexovas Beta Tablet is used for the following:

• Management of high blood pressure or hypertension.

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush or chew the tablet.

Nexovas Beta Tablet contains two active ingredients:

• Cilnidipine (10 mg): This ingredient is a calcium channel blocker, a class of medication that works by blocking certain types of calcium channels in your body. Specifically, cilnidipine blocks L-type and N-type calcium channels. The blockage of L-type channels in the walls of your blood vessels causes them to relax, reducing resistance to blood flow and thereby lowering blood pressure. The blockage of N-type channels at the ends of your nerves reduces the release of norepinephrine, a substance that constricts blood vessels, leading to a further reduction in blood pressure.

• Nebivolol (5 mg): Nebivolol is a selective β1-adrenergic receptor blocker. Its primary function is to block β1 receptors in your heart, causing a decrease in heart rate, the force with which your heart muscle contracts, and the amount of blood your heart pumps out, which ultimately lowers your blood pressure. Nebivolol's additional function is to cause your blood vessels to dilate, which is mediated by the release of a substance called nitric oxide. This dilation of blood vessels further aids in lowering blood pressure. The high selectivity of nebivolol for β1 receptors minimises the risk of side effects related to the blocking of β2 receptors, such as bronchospasm (narrowing of airways).
