CompositionNaprosyn 500 Plus Tablet is used to relieve pain, swelling and stiffness in conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis and ankylosing spondylitis. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing naproxen sodium 550mg, which belongs to a class of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicines (NSAIDs).
This medicine is also used to relieve gout attacks, tendinitis and bursitis, painful periods, back pain, headache and dental pain. Take it with food or milk to reduce stomach irritation, at the lowest dose that works and for the shortest time needed, as prescribed by your doctor.
Resting the affected joint during a flare, applying warm or cold compresses, and gentle exercise and keeping a healthy weight can support joint health.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have had stomach ulcers or bleeding, heart disease or a stroke, high blood pressure, asthma, or liver or kidney disease, and about other medicines you take, including blood thinners and other painkillers. It is not recommended in late pregnancy, so tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Seek medical help if you notice black stools, vomiting of blood, chest pain or sudden weakness. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
